Jake McGuire is known for his striking photos of Washington, D.C. Over the last 15 years he has taken thousands of pictures of Washington, creating one of the largest collections of photographs of our Nation's Capital. His photos decorate the executive offices of the J.W. Marriott Hotel, the concourse at Dulles Airport, appear in private collections, exhibitions, offices and are often found in airline and travel magazines. He has won 11 awards for photography and photojournalism. In January of 1989 the White House commissioned McGuire to do a limited edition print of the White House. The prints were given to Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra and other celebrities who performed at the Inaugural Gala. In March of 1992 he received an Arts America Grant from the United States Information Agency to give photography lectures abroad. In April of 1997 LIFE Magazine selected one of McGuire's photos for the cover of a special collector's edition of Life.
